As I rework this site, I’ve been sorting through all the files sitting on the server gathering dust, and was surprised to stumble across this photo.
I painted this screen years ago, to hide the lovely view of the garage behind it. I later took a screen stenciling class from Nancy Tribolet, and learned how I could have done it better! For instance, I had trouble getting the tape holding my stencil up to stay in place, but Nancy taught us to use stud earrings instead of tape. (She really is a wonderful teacher, so if you ever get the chance to take one of her classes, snap it up!)
If you’d like to see more of my screen door, look here.
A quick google search brought up some more ideas for screen stenciling:

In case you haven’t heard, Jan Dressler is retiring at the end of November. If there is a stencil from her collection that you’ve always wanted, you’d better head over to her website now, before it’s too late.

I suppose millcreekstenciling.com should have been retired long ago. I don’t paint professionally anymore, and as the first site I ever created, it wasn’t exactly a testament to my web design skills. Still, it was the first site I ever designed, and I guess I was a little attached.
Since it is still here, I’ve decided to repurpose it as a stenciling blog. I’m not a writer, so my entries will be brief and stenciling related. I will share stenciling news, highlight my recent stenciling projects or favorite stencil designs, and feature some talented artists.
Stay tuned…
p.s.
If for some reason you’d like to view the content from the old version of Mill Creek Stenciling . com (like the blurry pictures?), I’ve stowed it here for safe keeping.
